One of the not so
out there is the Korean Jindo Dog. They are said to have originated from Jindo Island, which is located in Korea. Apparently, this pooch comes in two types, namely: Gyupgae – the bodily structure of this kind is shorter, solid, stout, and more muscular than the 2nd type which is: Heutgae – the “sexier” kind of Jindo. They're taller and more slender as compared to the first type. Both aren't that big, only weighing from a range of 25 to 50 pounds coming in several colors, such as: yellow, white, and black. I didn't know much about this dog breed, but got the chance to hear some stories from my Korean student way back when I was still an English tutor.
I heard many tales of their courage and temperament – where it came from it was used a
. They sounded possible as he explained further on how it hunted the little harmless animals such as rabbits and deer. But I nearly choked on my drink when he told me it was also made to hunt and even tackle tigers; I thought he was joking but his “tale” seemed to become more and more credible as I've heard the same stories told by my other students. They are well-skilled, agile, fast, and pack indomitable courage – they seem to fear nothing and can be very obedient to the master.

They are extremely loyal to the humans that own them, and could be very protective as well. Protective pooches will always need socialization at an early age, to lessen the possibility of developing aggressive behavior.
This coupled with obedience training will greatly improve its social behavior for the better. If you don' it'll be overly cautious of strangers and misinterpret gestures as a sign of hostility. See how important dog training is for the Jindo? But this attribute may be manipulated into something more productive, such as turning it into an outstanding
. They can be taught to bark at people it isn't familiar with, and stop at your command, which can be a voice command or even a hand signal. Dog training routines must be kept consistent and implore methods that will keep its attention on you as to maximize your time and efforts.
During the entire process, you'll have it under your complete control – don't be too firm though; never hit, shout, or scold. That would be very bad and back-fire on you. Be gentle and let it know that you love it – that way it will respect you and become more willing to learn from you.
