Who wouldn’t their dogs to be healthy? It is very obvious that every dog lovers desire that. However the biggest problem regarding this is choosing the right amount of care to give. Caring for them starts from the right kinds of food—those that are considered healthy dog food. Make sure that what you feed them includes the right amount of vitamins, minerals, protein and carbohydrates that fits their age and size. Bigger dogs need more than smaller ones. The same principle follows for those that are active and not. Have your dog examined by their veterinarian regarding the kinds of healthy dog food your pet should have. It is also important to give your dog fresh water everyday. Keep their water bowls clean to avoid dog diseases that may infect them. Fresh water should be given to them not just for drinking but also for their bath. Even if your dog gets the right amount of food and water but externally it is not healthy because its body will be a haven for lice. Proper health should be inside and out. Give them a bath every other day or twice a week depending on the age of your pet. Make sure that they are old enough for a bath. For their exercise, be sure to walk them daily. It would be best for them to walk outdoors not only for their muscles but also to breathe fresh air.
You could walk them early in the morning or if you can’t ask or hire someone to do it for you. If no one is available you can walk them at night when you return from work. Remember that taking care of a dog includes lots of responsibility and you should not take them for granted otherwise you should have not taken them in the first place. As your pet they also need attention. Interact with them. You can do this even in the comfort of your homes such as watching TV together, playing ball with them or even jogging with them in your yards or in your neighborhood. By doing this, you do not only create good relationship with them but it is also a form of healthy dog training. It is an added plus for those pets that are healthy and at the same time knowing a few tricks. Another thing, don’t forget to give your dog its annual shots. It is very important for them to receive vaccinations because there are diseases that can’t be prevented or cured by maintaining a healthy lifestyle. These annual check ups are also another way for them to be monitored if they have other diseases within. So don’t be ashamed if you are not giving your pet those things previously mentioned. It’s never too late to give it up for them. You just have to remember that when you adopted them you have already allotted some of your time and space in your home. They do not only serve as your pet but also as your best buddy. So make sure that you would be able to provide it with the best of what you have.
