Whoever said that Sexually Transferred Diseases can only occur in humans? A dog disease known as Brucellosis can be contracted when a dog bangs another dog. It usually infects your pet's private part and its lymphatic system, which basically leads to the inflammation of lymph nodes and its testicles. If left untreated the virus can spread to the other organs inside your pooch's body, such as the kidney and eye, which of course will lead to others ailments pertaining to the infected organ. Not only does this make your pet utterly repulsive but it can cause abortions. This is very bad for business if you make your living off breeding dogs. If this is left untreated, there is a small chance that the owner of the infected pet will get infected too - this is rare though. If a bitch has an abortion due to the sickness, your other pets can contract the same disease if they come in direct contact with the fetus. And you know how canine love sniffing anything giving off a scent. Coming in contact with infected doggy poop and pee is also a risk for contraction. Brucellosis can also make your pet infertile. Many other disease may have similar symptoms. If you notice any of these being displayed by your pooch, have it undergo a check-up. It is recommended that you have your pet screened at least twice a year for the ailment. The 1st check-up may produce a negative result, especially if the dog disease is at an early stage.
You may opt to have a follow up on this a month after just to be sure that it really is free of the disorder. Though there are treatments available for Brucellosis, it is difficult to cure, and will require long-term medication. Medication includes the use of anti-biotics which will be very costly for any owner, especially if your poor. Obtaining blood samples will be necessary to verify the presence of the dog disease, which is also expensive. After your pet is diagnosed, treated, and cured, theres also a chance for recurrence. Therefore preventive measures will be the best approach in dealing with Brucellosis. There are rumors of a condom for dogs (meat flavored), but it was recalled because of failure to prevent pregnancies. If it can't stop pregnancies from taking place, what more the spread of ailments? Have your area cleaned with disinfectants if you know that your pooch is holding the sickness. Every time it poops or pisses, have the surrounding area sanitized immediately. This is to help prevent the virus from spreading to the other animals in the house. Sanitation is neither difficult or costly. A water and bleach solution will be good enough to kill the bacteria. Avoid feeding your pet with food that hasn't been cooked properly, particularly raw meat. It is possible for it to acquire the ailment if the meat has been contaminated with Brucellosis. Keep the diseased pet isolated until it has fully recovered. Do not let it have contact with other animals in the house. It may be hard on the your pet's part, but it'll do more good than harm.
